Making Submarine your own
1. Configuration options
We have ambitious plans to allow merchants to inject their very own custom business logic directly into Submarine (think Shopify Scripts, but better), but that’s a little way off.
For now, there are a number of ways that you can configure Submarine to better suit your requirements. Some of these can all be managed via the Submarine UI and some you will need to contact support to set.
1.1. Notifications
We expect most of our merchants to hook Submarine’s Flow triggers to a notification platform such as Klaviyo in order to keep themselves and their customers up to date. You can find information about available flow triggers here: Submarine x Shopify Flow
It’s also possible to set up multiple notifications for upcoming orders. For example, you could configure one notification 2 days prior to billing and another 1 day prior, giving customers additional reminders before their order is processed.

1.2. Subscriptions
These configuration options affect the behaviour of subscription orders
- Payment retry policy
- Default set to 3 attempts over 3 days.
This policy when defined, will tell Submarine how many times to attempt to capture payment before moving the subscription order to Skipped.
