🎉 New Features

Archive or unlist subscription plans Merchants can now set a subscription plan's status to Active, Unlisted or Archived, from the Submarine admin or through the API. Archiving a plan cancels its existing subscriptions in the background. See the subscriptionPlanArchive mutation.
Choose a new plan when restoring a subscription on an archived plan Restoring a cancelled subscription whose plan has since been archived now prompts you to select an available plan. See Cancel a subscription.

Edit discounts on existing Subscription Plan Groups Ability to edit, add and remove checkout and ongoing discounts on a Subscription Plan Group after it's been created. Changes apply to new subscriptions from that point on. Existing subscriptions keep their original discount unless they move to a different plan in the group, in which case they pick up the group's current discounts. To update all existing subscriptions to the new discounts, merchants can contact support. See Editing discounts on Subscription Plan Groups.

Set your own upcoming order reminders Ability to manage upcoming order reminders from the Submarine Settings page, under Subscriptions → Upcoming order reminders. Add as many reminders as needed, for example 7 days, 2 days and 1 day before billing.
Set your own failed payment retries Choose how many times Submarine retries a failed subscription order payment, and how far apart, from the Settings page under Subscriptions → Failed payments. If every retry fails, the order moves to Skipped.

Buy X Get Y discounts now supported Buy X Get Y discount types now apply to subscription orders, completing the product discount support released in September. See Subscriptions and Shopify discounts.

Import subscriptions on a manual payment method Subscriptions can now be imported on a manual payment method by setting _payment_method_id: manual, with an optional _payment_method_description (e.g. "Invoice"). Renewals create an unpaid Shopify order for the merchant to collect instead of charging a card. The description shows in the admin, customer portal, notifications and CSV exports. Customers can't switch their own subscription to a manual method.

Cancellation reason shown on cancelled subscriptions The "Subscription cancelled" callout now displays the reason the subscription was cancelled, so there's no need to dig through events to find it.

Faster presale searches Presale campaign and campaign order searches now run on Platform Data for improved performance, with no changes to the API.

Daylight saving no longer shifts order processing times Scheduled order processing no longer runs an hour early after a daylight saving change.
Searching by subscription ID now returns the exact match first Searching for a subscription ID without the # prefix now surfaces that subscription as the top result.
